My approach to supervision is attachment-informed and relational. We pay attention not only to what is happening for the client, but also to what is happening for you in the therapeutic relationship. Countertransference, enactments, ruptures, and endings are all welcome material, not signs you are doing something wrong. The aim is to support you in developing your own clinical voice and confidence, rather than to tell you how you “should” work.
I aim to provide a containing and thoughtful supervisory relationship with a laid-back atmosphere that balances support with gentle challenge. Supervision should be a place where you feel able to bring uncertainty and vulnerability, while also being held accountable to safe and ethical practice. We will consider risk, boundaries, and professional standards alongside meaning, process, and therapeutic depth.
I work with trainees and qualified therapists from a range of modalities. While my clinical background is psychodynamic and attachment-based, supervision is not about requiring you to work in my model. Instead, I aim to help you think more clearly within your own theoretical framework and to understand the relational dynamics unfolding in your work.
